Overview

Kidrout respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Kidrout app handles information used to provide its features, including local storage, Apple iCloud synchronization, Family Sync, notifications, purchases, and advertising.

Information stored in the app

Kidrout may store child profiles, routines, tasks, rewards, statistics, badges, progress information, selected profile photos, family member display names, device roles, and app settings.

When a Child Profile PIN or Parent PIN is enabled, Kidrout stores protected verification data used to validate the PIN. Kidrout does not need to store the readable PIN itself.

Local storage and iCloud

App data is stored locally on the user’s device. When iCloud synchronization or Family Sync is enabled, app data may be securely stored and synchronized using Apple’s CloudKit services.

Family Sync uses Apple iCloud Sharing to share selected family data with family members invited and approved by the family owner. Shared data may include child profiles, routines, tasks, rewards, badges, progress, profile settings, family member information, and protected PIN verification data.

Family members who accept an Apple iCloud Sharing invitation may receive access to the shared family data through Kidrout. Access can be removed by leaving the family or by the family owner disconnecting Family Sync.

Kidrout does not receive or store Apple ID passwords.

Parent and Child roles

Family members may join Family Sync with a Parent or Child role. These roles control which Kidrout features and management controls are available on a participating device.

A Child Profile PIN limits access to an individual protected child profile. A Parent PIN protects parental settings and management features. These PINs are app access controls and do not replace the security protections provided by the device or Apple ID.

Profile photos

Profile photos selected by the user are used only for Kidrout functionality. When Family Sync is enabled, selected profile photos may be synchronized with invited family members through Apple CloudKit Sharing.

Kidrout does not sell profile photos or use them for advertising.

Subscriptions and purchases

Kidrout offers optional Premium features through Apple In-App Purchases and subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple. Kidrout does not receive or store payment card details.

Advertising

The free version of Kidrout may display advertisements. Advertising may be provided through Google AdMob. Advertising providers may process device-related, advertising, consent, and interaction data according to their own privacy policies and applicable consent settings.

Advertising and privacy options may depend on the user’s region, device settings, age-related requirements, and consent choices.

Notifications

Kidrout may use local notifications for routine reminders. These notifications are scheduled on the device and can be controlled by the user in iOS Settings.

When Family Sync is enabled, Kidrout may also use Apple push notifications to detect changes to shared CloudKit data and begin synchronization. These synchronization notifications may be processed silently by the app.

Accounts and Apple ID

Kidrout does not require users to create a separate Kidrout account or register a username and password with Kidrout.

An Apple ID and iCloud availability are required when using Apple iCloud synchronization or Family Sync. Apple manages the user’s Apple ID and iCloud account according to Apple’s terms and privacy policies.

Data sharing

Kidrout does not sell personal information.

Data may be processed by Apple when iCloud, CloudKit, Family Sync, notifications, purchases, or subscriptions are used. Data related to advertising and consent may be processed by Google AdMob and its partners when advertisements are enabled.

Family data is shared only through Apple iCloud Sharing with family members who have been invited and who accept the sharing invitation.

User choices

Users can control notification permissions in iOS Settings. Family members can leave Family Sync, and the family owner can disconnect Family Sync or remove participants using Apple’s sharing controls.

Local Kidrout data can be removed by deleting the relevant content inside the app or, where applicable, by deleting the app from the device. Data stored through Apple services may also be subject to Apple’s iCloud and account controls.

Children’s privacy

Kidrout is designed for use by families. Parents or guardians are responsible for creating and managing child profiles, inviting family members, enabling Family Sync, and selecting appropriate privacy and advertising settings.

Kidrout does not require a child to create a separate Kidrout account.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Kidrout features, services, or legal requirements change. The effective date shown at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
